DN50 pipe fittings are suitable for pipes with an inner diameter of 50mm. Pipe fittings are a general term for components in pipeline systems that perform functions such as connection, control, direction change, flow diversion, sealing, and support.
DN50 pipe fittings include a wide range of common ones, including flanges, unions, pipe clamps, ferrules, throat clamps, tees, etc.
Classification Of DN50 Pipe Fittings
Pipe fittings can be divided into steel, cast iron, and non-metallic types according to their purpose and material. Most oil refining and chemical systems use steel pipe fittings, which are suitable for pipelines of various media and purposes. At present, the main molded products are pressed elbows, reducers, and tees.
Pressed elbows are of two types: seamless elbows and welded elbows. Seamless elbows are pressed on special molds with 10-steel, 20-steel, or stainless steel seamless steel pipes. It is divided into 90° and 45°. The most commonly used is 90° elbow.
Welded elbows are made by stamping and welding two pieces of 10 and 20 steel. It is divided into 90° and 45°. When the pipeline diameter is small, and the medium pressure is high, seamless elbows are often used. Welded elbows are often used for large-diameter and low-pressure pipelines.
Short pipes are used in chemical pipelines for easy installation and disassembly. Short pipes with different diameters at both ends are called reducers. Reducers include concentric reducers and eccentric reducers. They can be stamped with seamless steel pipes or rolled and welded with steel plates.
Steel unions, steel threaded short joints, steel pipe clamps, and others are commonly used pipe fittings on small-diameter pipes. Valves are also among the most commonly used accessories in pipelines.
In addition, to facilitate pipeline installation and maintenance, a pipe flange needs to be installed in the pipeline. A flange cover is installed at the end of the pipeline. The flange cover is the same size as the flange, and a blind plate is inserted between the two flanges.
DN50 Pipe Fittings Connection Methods And Advantages
The welded connection of the pipe has high strength, good tightness, no accessories, low cost, and is easy to use. It is suitable for steel pipes that transport various media.
Its disadvantage is that it cannot be disassembled. When welding, the distance between the two parallel welds must not be less than the outer diameter of the pipe and must not be less than 200mm.
To avoid cross welds, if the pipe is made of steel plate rolled and welded, the longitudinal welds of the two adjacent pipes should be staggered by more than 200mm when they are butt-jointed. The butt weld of the pipe should be more than 100mm away from the bracket.
The threaded connection is mainly used in production or domestic water, heating facilities pipelines, the pump’s cooling water pipeline, or the pressure gauge and control valve lead line connection.
This connection requires a variety of accessories, such as unions, tees, pipe clamps, plugs, etc. Threaded connection is easy to disassemble and assemble, but the construction is troublesome, and the joints are prone to leakage.
Socket connections are mainly suitable for connecting cast iron pipes, ceramic pipes, concrete pipes, and plastic pipes.
For pipelines with electrostatic grounding requirements, the resistance value between each connection joint and the resistance value of the pipeline system to the ground shall be measured.
If the resistance value exceeds 0.03Ω, a jumper wire and a grounding lead shall be installed. For stainless steel and titanium pipelines, the jumper wire and the grounding lead shall not be directly connected to the titanium pipeline, and the titanium plates and stainless steel plates shall be used for transition.
