Weldolet Fittings Models
Weldolet fittings refer to joints where two or more parts are combined by welding. Or, a joint where two or more parts are connected by welding, including welds, fusion zones, and heat-affected zones.
Weldolet Fittings
There are five main types of wallet fittings: butt joints, T-shaped joints, corner joints, lap joints, and edge joints. Sometimes there are other types of joints in welded structures, such as cross joints, end joints, crimp joints, sleeve joints, angled butt joints, bottom-lock butt joints, etc. There are detailed regulations in the national standard GB985-88.
Weldolet Fittings Types
A joint in which two weldments are relatively parallel is called a butt joint. From a mechanical point of view, this type of joint is ideal. It has better stress conditions, smaller stress concentrations, and can withstand larger static or dynamic loads. It is a welding joint. The most commonly used joint type in structures, welding method, and groove preparation, butt joints can be divided into two types: non-grooved butt joints and grooved butt joints.
T-shaped joints are widely used in steel structural parts. It can withstand forces and moments in all directions as a connecting weld. When selecting, try to avoid single-sided fillet welds because there are deep gaps at the roots and low load-bearing capacity. K-shaped grooves can be used for weldments with higher requirements, and whether the root is penetrated is determined according to the stress condition. This is more economical than using a large leg weld without grooves, and the fatigue strength of the joint is high.
The lap joint is created by joining the edges of two plates with surfaces at a 90° angle to each other. This type of joint is suitable for light and heavy-thickness sheet metals. It’s important to note that this type of weld is performed outside the corner.
A lap joint is created by overlapping two plates and welding the edges together. It is used to join boards with a thickness of 3 mm or less. Lap joints can be single transverse, double transverse, and parallel lap joints. This type of welding can be done on one or both sides of the metal sheet, depending on how closely you want the metal to be welded together. Joints are often used to join two parts of different thicknesses together. You’ll find lap joints on weightlifting and fitness equipment and some industrial equipment.
This is the most common form of welding of sheet metal, especially if there are flanged edges (bends). It’s also a common welding option for joining metal to adjacent parts, so if you imagine you have two quarter pipes and want to weld them side by side. Instead of welding the space between them, you weld the top edge surfaces where the two adjacent pieces meet.
Factors Affecting The Performance Of Weldolet Fittings
The mechanical properties of the weldolet fittings are determined by its chemical composition and structure. Therefore, factors that affect the weld’s chemical composition and the welded joint’s structure affect the weldolet joint’s performance.
Welding materials
Welding rods for manual arc welding, welding wires for submerged arc automatic welding gas shielded welding, etc., become a component of the weld metal after melting, directly affecting the chemical composition of the weld metal. Flux or flux affects the chemical composition of the solder wrap.
Welding method
The heat sources used in different welding methods have varying temperatures and heat concentrations. Therefore, the size of the heat-affected zone and the thickness of the welded joint structure are different, and the joint’s performance is also different. Different welding methods provide varying levels of mechanical protection. Therefore, the weld’s performance will be different depending on the purity of the weld metal, that is, the content of harmful impurities.
Welding process
The various physical quantities (such as welding current, arc voltage, welding speed, linear energy, etc.) chosen to ensure welding quality are referred to as welding process parameters.
Main Factors In Designing And Selecting Weldedolet Fittings
- Ensure that the welded joint meets the usage requirements.
- The joint form can ensure normal welding by the selected welding method.
- The joint form should be as simple as possible, flat welding and automatic welding methods should be used as much as possible, overhead welding and vertical welding should be used less frequently, and the maximum stress should not be located on the weld seam as much as possible.
- The welding process can ensure that the welded joint works normally in the design temperature and corrosive medium.
- The welding deformation and stress are small, and the technology, personnel, and equipment required for construction requirements can be met.
- Welded joints are easy to inspect.
- The cost of preparation before welding and welding is low.
- It is not advisable to select and design an excessively large fillet size for fillet welds. Tests have proven low load-bearing capacity per unit area of large fillet welds.
Different weldolet fittings have different uses and can be used in different fields, such as the chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, oil, and gas, etc. Elite Piping Manufacture can guarantee the quality and after-sales service of weldolet fittings. What are you waiting for? Come and consult us.
