Steel pipe fittings refer to the pipeline system components used for direct connections, turns, branches, reductions, and ends.
Including elbows, tees, crosses, reducers, pipe hoops, internal and external threaded joints, unions, quick hose joints, threaded nipples, branch pipe seats (stands), wire plugs (pipe plugs), pipe caps, blind plates, etc., excluding valves, flanges, fasteners, gaskets.

Various standards and technical agreements clearly define the technical requirements for stainless steel pipe fittings. Different working conditions and uses have distinct technical requirements for steel fittings. Mainly includes the following contents:
The Technical Requirements For Steel Pipe Fittings
- Variety specifications. Specifies the cross-sectional shape, size allowable deviation, theory, etc., that stainless steel pipe fittings should have. DxS usually represents round pipe specifications.
- Surface quality requirements. Specifies the internal and external surface conditions of stainless steel pipe fittings and the extent of allowable surface defects.
- Chemicalprope rties. Specifies the chemical composition of steel types, the maximum contents of P and S, and test methods.
- Structure and physical properties: Please provide information on the metallographic structure, mechanical properties, and processing properties of the type of steel.
- Inspection standards. Specify inspection items, sampling locations, sample shape and size.
There are two main international pipe flange standards: the European pipe flange system, represented by German DIN (including the former Soviet Union), and the American pipe flange system, represented by American ANSI pipe flanges. There are also Japanese JIS pipe flanges, but they are generally only used in public projects in petrochemical plants and have little international impact.The following is an introduction to pipe flanges in various countries:

The internationally accepted pipe flange standards can be summarized into two non-interchangeable systems: one represented by Germany and the other by the United States. The European pipe flange system is one and the American pipe flange system is the other.
IOS7005-1 is a standard published by the International Organization for Standardization in 1992. This standard is actually a pipe flange standard that merges two series of pipe flanges from the United States and Germany.
The Classification Of Steel Pipe Fittings
Steel pipe fittings are all pressure-bearing pipe fittings. According to different processing techniques, they are divided into four categories, namely butt welding pipe fittings (with and without welds), socket welding and threaded pipe fittings, and flange pipe fittings.
- Extension connecting pipe fittings: pipe hoops, wire pairs (internal joints).
- Branch connecting pipe fittings: tee, cross.
- After turning the connecting pipe fittings: 90° elbow and 45° elbow.
- Node joint connection pipe fittings: union with threaded flange.
- Pipe fittings for reducing diameter: core filler (internal and external wires), reducing pipe hoops (large and small heads).

The Connection Methods For Steel Pipe Fittings
Commonly used connection methods for steel pipes: welding, grooved clamp connection, flange connection, wire connection, and socket connection.
- Welding: Welding is a manufacturing process and technology that uses heat, high temperature or high pressure to join metal or other thermoplastic materials such as plastics.
- Threaded connection: It is a detachable fixed connection with the advantages of simple structure, reliable connection, and convenient assembly and disassembly. It is widely used in the fields of mechanical engineering and connection structures.
- Flange connection: First, fix two pipes, pipe fittings, or equipment on a flange plate, add flange pads between the two flange plates, and connect them together with bolts to complete the connection. In addition, some pipe fittings and equipment already come with flanges, which are also flange connections.
- The groove connector is a new type of steel pipe connection method, also called a clamp connection, with many advantages.
- Socket connection is a method in which the socket at one end of the pipe or fitting is inserted into the socket of the fitting to be connected, and the well is sealed with slope filling material in the annulus. Socket connections are mainly used for cast iron pipes with socket joints.
