The allowable clearance between flange joint pairs or pairs at the final closed end of the pipeline shall comply with the GB/T 20801.4 provisions.
When pipelines are connected to moving equipment (such as the inlet and outlet of rotary equipment, such as pumps), the installation-allowable deviation of the flange joint shall be in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 20801.4, and no additional installation load shall be allowed.
The bolt should pass freely through the bolt hole perpendicular to the flange, and the nut should fit flat against the back of the flange. Pipes or other connections that may affect flange alignment are properly supported.
The excessive installation deviation of the flange joint should be corrected before the gasket is installed.
When assembling flange joints, the size of the gasket should be consistent with the size of the flange. Only one gasket is allowed between one pair of flange sealing surfaces. The gasket installation should be kept coaxial with the flange to prevent the gasket from blocking the media flow path.
Appropriate methods should be used for positioning during gasket installation. Do not use tape to fix the gasket, and do not use grease (unless the gasket manufacturer has special requirements).
Close the flange, making sure the gasket is not crushed.
Unless otherwise specified in the installation procedure document, when using a torque wrench to tighten bolts, approved lubricant should be evenly applied to the working surface of the bolt and the load-bearing surface of the nut or washer to avoid contamination of the gasket and flange seal with lubricant On the surface.
New coated bolts do not require the use of anti-seize lubricant. However, anti-seize lubricant should be applied during the second use.
Assemble the bolts and nuts on each bolt hole of the flange, and tighten or rotate the nuts appropriately by hand to the marked position. The number of threads protruding from the nut at the end of each bolt is equal.
Bolts of the same specifications should be used for flange joint assembly, and the installation directions should be consistent. Bolts should be tightened symmetrically.
After tightening, the bolts should be in close contact with the flange without any wedge gaps. When washers are required, each bolt should not exceed 1. All nuts should be fully threaded into the bolts.
In any case, the number of incompletely engaged threads on the nut shall not exceed 1 pitch. When using a bolt tensioning device, the bolt length should be checked.
When assembling flange joints, if the pressure levels or mechanical properties of the two flanges are significantly different, the bearing capacity of the flange when the pressure level is lower or the tensile strength is lower should be considered.
